DISPLACED PEOPLES SPECIALIST [female applicants only]

Greece, like many other places in Southern Europe has been flooded by displaced peoples from the Middle East and North Africa. These people have fled their homelands due to war, extreme poverty, and many other reasons which have led them to take many dangerous chances. You will be working at a center which engages with locals and many of these refugees in Athens. You will assist in facilitating programs and working with gender specific group mentoring. We are working with various cultures and ethnic churches. Modest clothing is required and security training will be provided. The city is generally safe, but the center is in an area that might be out of people's comfort zone.

What to Expect:

• Experience the rich history and many ancient sites of Athens
• Learn and experience the cultures of the Middle East and North Africa
• Understand the refugee crisis which has dominated international headlines
• Working side-by-side as a team with other volunteers, missionaries, pastors, and ministry leaders
• Find community among missionaries in the local church in Athens
• Help refugees and displaced people rebuild their lives and find hope after so much loss and turmoil
